Updated: Oct 21, 2020

Are you sick of staying at home and can't wait to travel again? Don't leave JUST YET as we still have a pandemic! Here are some countries that you can visit for "cheap" when you start traveling again!

Even though the whole world is on pause because of the pandemic, it is still nice to prepare for the future or dream! Just promise me that you will put your vacations on hold so we can get through this challenge together!

The following countries are wonderful places filled with cultures within cultures, beautiful landscapes, and delicious food. Remember than any country can be as cheap as you make it out to be! On the other hand, these countries also allow people who love to splurge on luxury benefits to do as they please.

Settled in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is a long narrow country on the coast of the South China Sea. Vietnam is well known for its winding rivers, Buddhist pagodas, and Hanoi, the nation's capital. Hanoi is the second biggest city in Vietnam and is known for its many temples and old quarters. Ho Chi Minh, the biggest city, is a bustling city filled with modern skyscrapers and traditional markets. In the city, tourists can visit the many pagodas, like Giac Lam Pagoda, and visit museums to learn about the history of the city and the Vietnam War. Whereas some trips can cost up to $2,000 per person, a trip to Vietnam can cost less than $1,000 per person. When you get to Vietnam, don't forget to try pho, a soup with rice noodle and various ingredients and aromatics.

Although I have never been to Vietnam and only the neighboring country Cambodia, I know that Vietnam is a gem. The landscapes of the country's terrace rice farming are breathtaking, and the cities have both modern buildings and traditional nooks.

Tucked into the Northwest corner of the African continent, Morocco is a Mediterranean country well known for its melting pot of Arabian and European cultures. Much of Morocco is covered by the Atlas Mountains and part of the country's Eastern border includes the Sahara Desert. Morocco is known for its beautiful and colorful architecture, hot temperatures, and bright blue beaches. This country has many well-known cities, including the capital Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakesh. In Rabat, you can visit the Oudaias Kasbah, a fortress, and the Kabash Mosque, both of which include Spanish architecture from the Andalusia region. Casablanca, the most populated city in the country, also has many mosques worth a visit. One of the most popular travel destinations in the country would be Marrakesh because of its colorful architectural tiles and the winding souks, markets. Navigating through the souks can be confusing because of the layout of the streets, so make sure you ask for directions. Just like Vietnam, vacation in Morocco can easily cost less than $1000 per person, especially when a delicious tagine, a Moroccan stew with meat and vegetables, can cost $5.

Morocco should definitely be a bucket-list destination because of the country's natural beauty and diverse architecture. The country offers a mixture of history in regards to the Spanish rule, French influence, and Arab rule, and the scenery varies from coastal beaches to mountain ranges to the Sahara Desert. Morocco will never leave anyone bored!

Tucked into the Balkans region of Eastern Europe, Romania is a scenic country you probably recognize because of Transylvania and Dracula. Romania is known for its medieval villages, cathedrals, and castles. Bran's Castle is the castle many know for its association with Dracula. The largest city and capital of Romania is Bucharest, a city known for its governmental buildings, cathedrals, and remains of old towns. The city is actually home to the Palace of the Parliament, the world's largest legislative building. Romania is also home to breathtaking views of nature as the country is one of the most geographically diverse countries in Europe. The country is filled with varying landscapes of snowy mountains, rolling hills, dense forests, vineyards, and beaches to the Black Sea. Thus, a popular activity in Romania is hiking, which will also allow you to gaze at the wildlife, including bison, lynx, and wolves.

Unlike other countries in Europe, Romania is cheap for tourists and can easily cost less than $1,000 per person. Romania is definitely on the rise for tourists as its tourism is increasing at a rapid rate!
