Are you exhausted by staying at home and can't wait to splurge on travel again? Well... don't leave JUST YET as we still have a pandemic! Here are some countries that you can visit and "treat yourself" when you start traveling again!

Even though the whole world is on pause because of the pandemic, it is still nice to prepare for the future or dream! Just promise me that you will put your vacations on hold so we can get through this challenge together! If you have been saving up to go on vacation but have not been able to go, this article will show you some of the best destinations to splurge for luxury!

The following countries/cities are wonderful places filled with cultures within cultures, beautiful landscapes, and delicious food. Remember than any country can be as expensive as you make it out to be!

Bora Bora

Famous for being a popular honeymoon destination, Bora Bora is a South Pacific island located in the French Polynesia. Along with the neighboring island Tahiti, Bora Bora is a famous travel destination all over the world because of its bright blue waters and luxury resorts. You may recognize Bora Bora from the beautiful water-bungalows that are featured in many of the luxury resorts. These bungalows are the epitome of luxury as some have multiple rooms and bathrooms, some have their own pools, and all are surrounded by the clearest water. For example, a two-bedroom overwater villa at St. Regis can cost up to $5,700 per night, which is very expensive compared to villas in other countries. Not only are these huts expensive but they are few in number and sell out fast. Bora Bora is also very expensive and almost "exclusive" because there is a limited number of flights. Due to the remoteness of the islands, there are only four flights to Tahiti per day, and one will have to take a ferry from Tahiti to get to Bora Bora. If you are willing to spend the money, Bora Bora is definitely worth the travel! This majestic island has French, Italian, and Japanese influences infused with island cultures. Cuisine in Bora Bora includes many different types of fish, pork, coconut milk, banana leaves, and more. Looking for the perfect luxury island getaway? Go to Bora Bora!

Paris, France

This list would not make sense without including Paris! Home to the most famous tourist attraction in the world, the Eiffel Tower, Paris captures the hearts and wallets of many people. Paris is located along the Seine River and in the North of France. Not only is Paris the capital of France, but it is third fashion capital of the world after Milan and New York City. Following a typical stereotype, Parisian tourists celebrate the city's art galleries, cafés, boutiques, charming streets, and glimmering lights. Unlike Bora Bora, Paris can be affordable as long as you budget wisely, but we are not here to talk about thrifty spending. There are about a million ways to break your bank in Paris, and hotel expense is one of them. For example, staying at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée's Eiffel Suite will cost you 11,000 EUR per night or $12,845. In the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, you can purchase many luxury goods in stores like Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Omega, etc. Since Paris is a fashion capital, the city hosts the annual Paris Fashion Week that takes place in the end of September through early October and presents many runways for designer brand collections. Truly one of the best types of food in my opinion, French cuisine consists of various skilled techniques, such as déglacer, julienne, and roux. Some delicious French dishes include crêpes, ratatouille, and coq au vin. For art enthusiasts, food enthusiasts, and shopping enthusiasts, Paris is a MUST!

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Located on the Eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula and on the coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai is the most populated city of the United Arab Emirates. Since Dubai is a massive business hub and is important for transporting goods, this emirate is undoubtedly a luxurious city. Most people know about Dubai because it is home to the tallest building in the world at 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa. This city appears to be so modern and cosmopolitan that it is labeled as one of the most futuristic cities in the world. Although I have not been to Dubai, I visited Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and another modern city. Often touted as "the most luxurious hotel in the world," the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is a beauty in the eye of the beholder. The Royal Suite in the Burj Al Arab can cost up to $24,000 per night. Additionally, Dubai is known for its massive shopping malls. For example, Dubai Mall houses many luxury stores, including Prada, Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Cartier, and more. Cuisine in Dubai is definitely memorable, including a range of spices, chicken, rice, and fish. In addition to the traditional Dubai food, the city offers many luxurious restaurants from Michelin Star Chefs. For example, Michelin Star Chef Vineet Batia has an award-winning restaurant serving Indian cuisine called "Indigo." Dubai MUST be on your bucket list! Just watch out for the extreme temperatures of 120ºF!
